It is just over forty years since the liturgical reforms of Vatican 2 were introduced in the Catholic Church. You would need to be nearly sixty years of age to have any real memory of pre-Vatican 2 worship. I think it's time to have a brief look at the effects of the reforms. The Church has gained - and also lost - a lot. Perhaps this is the inevitable result of reform in any sphere of life.
