I have been very impressed by the provision of hymn books for the Catholic Church in Germany. A new one has just been compiled and is used by all German Catholic churches. Commissioned by the Hierarchy it is the fruit of many years study and work. It contains old and new, some with guitar chords, and there are supporting editions that contain many different arrangements - there is something for everyone. The book consists of a basic core of hymns but each diocese has added its own supplement; some parishes have even done the same. A massive undertaking and an enormous contribution to the sung liturgy.
