I find Anglican Evensong a great source of spiritual refreshment and joy. I recently attended the service at Westminster Abbey in London and admired its solemnity and beauty. The language was superb and the singing totally exquisite. As I left the Abbey I reflected that the Catholic Church has a lot to learn from the Anglican liturgy, not so much in its parish worship but in the spirituality and effectiveness of its hieratic liturgy.
